Many of the same health problems that affect us, including hearing loss, also affect our pets. Fortunately, most pets adapt very well to the disability with a little help from their owners.View Article

Who will skillfully and gently care for your four-legged friend when you have to go out of town for that business meeting or well deserved vacation? When you are frazzled in the middle of a busy work week, who can take up the slack and give your cat or dog the vital human interaction or structured playtime they need?
Valley Animal Hospital supplies a healthy, rejuvenating spa-like environment. Designed from a pet's viewpoint, it is specially equipped for the healthy as well as the special needs patients. Our staff is highly experienced in administering oral, topical and injectable medications. In addition, we have the expertise and facilities to properly care for pets with mobility or incontinence issues.
When we designed our boarding facility, we made it so we would be comfortable if our own pets stayed here. Dogs stay in mini-suites. Cats stay in our custom build cat condos.
These themed canine suites are multi-level or flat (depending on your dog's personality). Your pet has ample room to move around in a space appropriate for the size of your dog. For example, the Serengeti Suite is large enough to house two Great Danes together!
The floors are equipped with individual drains to prevent disease transmission. There is radiant heat in the floor so your dog is never on a cold, hard surface. Bedding is provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.
The doctor-supervised facility is equipped with a UV scrubber fresh air exchanger to minimize odors and prevent disease transmission. There is a grassy outdoor walk area where your dog is walked individually several times daily. We also have an indoor exercise area so that the nursing staff can play with your dog when the weather is poor.
It is a common misconception that cats are okay with being left along for the weekend while their human friend is away. "Leave some food down and put enough litter in the box and they will be okay."
According to veterinary behavioral specialists, however, recent evidence shows that cats left alone for repeated or extended periods of time have a greater likelihood of developing separation anxiety and the negative behavioral issues associated with it (house soiling, aggression).
All of our multi-level cat condos have a beautiful view of our park-like setting. The back is completely glass lined, keeping your cat occupied for hours on end basking in the sun, watching the birds and squirrels outside. Litter pans are at the bottom and a special direct exhaust system carries away any unpleasant odors so the air is always fresh and clean. Bedding is supplied, or you may bring your own.
Your cat will be hugged and petted several times a day by our caring staff, to help provide the attention they are used to receiving when you are home.
